The ability to make tools is one of the things that separates us from other animals. There are, of course, exceptions (monkeys, apes, birds, sea otters and a few other lucky animals have been known to use certain instruments), but sticks and rocks aren't really tools, are they?
A 20-pound demolition hammer, now that's a tool. Let's see a primate try to operate one of those.
