Oct. 21--A Downers Grove plastics executive who was killed in a plane crash Thursday in Maryland had radioed back to the control tower shortly after takeoff but did not signal distress before the plane went down, the National Transportation Safety Board said Friday. Dan Eberhardt, 57, president and CEO of MRC Polymers Inc. in Chicago, was killed in the single-engine plane crash along with his girlfriend, Bobbi Getz, 56, a certified public accountant from Pittsburgh, according to family and business associates.
