Oct. 22--BLACKSBURG -- Some players profess not to care about breaking records.
Branden Ore is not one of them.
The Virginia Tech tailback rushed for a career-high 207 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries Saturday night to help the Hokies squash Southern Mississippi 36-6.

It also was the third-best rushing performance by a Hokie in Lane Stadium history. Kenny Lewis, the father of Ore's backup, Kenny Lewis Jr., owns that mark. He ran for 223 yards in a 1978 win over VMI.
