Kids who watch television have some specific characteristics. These include accute visual learning skills coupled with a limited attention span. They are also able to take in several ideas simultaneously. Teaching these types of kids requires effective methods which strengthen their positive characteristics. For example, oral directions may be accompanied by written directions in the form of words or symbols. The use of visual aids such as overhead projectors and art activities is also effective. Most importantly, television, video and other media forms should be used.
Become a media-savvy teacher of media-smart kids.
