DIED: Former underground resistance fighter Evelyn A. (Pylle) Hamilton, 84, of cancer, in Edmonton, on Sept. 4. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Hamilton was raised by her grandparents after the untimely death of her parents. She spent the war years in the Danish underground resisting the Nazi occupation of Denmark by working as a barmaid in a tavern frequented by German officers. She also worked for the local telephone company and would listen in on Nazi conversations, which she would relay to her brother Georg, an organizer of the Danish resistance movement.
