Even though $500 million market cap Source Interlink Cos. Inc.'s (SIC) stock trades 20% lower than when it announced its strategic review more than seven months ago, SIC confirmed the pro-cess is ongoing.
The media distribution company announced it was exploring alternatives on March 2 and hired The Yucaipa Cos. as a strategic consultant. On March 16, SIC publicized the retention of Deutsche Bank as its financial advisor. SIC's shares rose 9% to $11.18 on news of the review, and reached $11.95 when it publicized Deutsche's hiring. However, at press time, SIC's stock traded at $9.58 per share.
