MIDLAND investors have been placed on alert over a potential stock market crash with confidence in shares plunging.
The latest investor confidence index from the Association of Investment Companies shows that 34 per cent of the general public think property will outperform the stock market over the next six months.
Meanwhile, the feelgood factor surrounding the FTSE - which recently reached a five-year high - has diminished, with the number of active investors expecting the stock market to outperform property falling from 71 per cent in spring 2005 to 44 per cent today.
