IRVING, Texas, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Commercial Metals Company today reported record net earnings of $356 million or $2.89 per diluted share on net sales of $7.6 billion for the year ended August 31, 2006. This compares with net earnings of $286 million or $2.32 per diluted share on net sales of $6.6 billion last year, which was the previous record year. The Company's net earnings return on beginning equity was 40%.
