Cape Town's latest urban legend is that the managers of Table Mountain National Park intend banning dogs from the park. This is simply not true, but it does fill the silence at dinner time.
The source of this misconception was our proposal for public comment that dogs not be allowed in the proposed "remote" and "remote wilderness" areas of the park. For us, this was just one aspect of the overall revision of the park's Conservation Development Framework (CDF).
We have heard from dog walkers, for whom access to the park with their dogs is understandably very important. Dogs will continue to be allowed in some of the remote ...
