Off-Broadway of the '70s is coming to Glen Ellyn when "Vanities" opens at 8 p.m. Friday at the Village Theatre Guild, Butterfield Road and Park Boulevard.

The comedy takes the audience through a timeline that follows three young women from high school to the years just beyond college.

The off-Broadway hit also represents a trip through time for the Glen Ellyn-based theater company, which first presented the show in 1980.

So it's undoubtedly giving director James A. Liesz a case of deja vu.
