Oct. 24--This is a tough town for legends, particularly those who try to fashion a second act to their previous glories. If the impatience and impertinence of the modern world were applied to yesteryear, Benjamin Franklin would have been merrily walking down Market Street, loaves of bread stuffed into his waistcoat pockets, only to hear from passersby: "Yo, Ben. You call that a Continental Congress?" So there was nothing sentimental here last weekend, at least nothing befitting the occasion, that marked the end of Bob Clarke's tortured second act (third, if you want to be technical) as a nonskating member of the Philadelphia Flyers. ...
