Oct. 24--YORK -- Charles Rottkamp thought he was breaking up a fistfight when he ran into the hall of the Ramada Inn 1776 and tackled a man on top of co-worker Cleveland Hill. Minutes later, his lung punctured from a stab wound, Rottkamp held his bleeding co-worker's head. "I was telling him to hold on," Rottkamp said. "He gave me one last look, and that was it." Hill, a 29-year-old Newport News resident, died. Rottkamp and Shenice Singleton-Green were injured in the Aug. 2 triple stabbing at the Williamsburg-area hotel. The two survivors testified at a preliminary hearing Monday in York-Poquoson General District Court. ...
