Oct. 24--I'm wondering how the Giants' interview process is going with that elephant in the room. It must be a little awkward. On Monday, Brian Sabean, Mets coach Manny Acta and the elephant met about the team's vacant managerial job. Later this week, Sabean is expected to sit down with Padres Manager Bruce Bochy -- and, of course, the elephant -- to discuss the position. The elephant is Barry Bonds. Not the real live Bonds, who is chilling in Beverly Hills. The elephant is the prospect of Bonds in a Giants uniform next season and all that that entails.
