They share a common name and two common desires: to boost the Nuggets' perimeter shooting and make the most of a fresh start.
But it doesn't take much to see Joe Smith and J.R. Smith offer a contrast in styles.
They are at different stages of their careers, with different goals and different abilities.
One, only 21, still has the potential to be a top-echelon player. The other, 10 years older, has seen his better days but still brings a garbage man mentality to the court and leadership to the locker room.
