Quiet diplomacy is continuing between the EU, the US and India to see whether they can agree numbers which would allow the Doha Round negotiations to start again in earnest, and pave the way for a possible deal by next summer, sources close to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) discussions said this week.
The three countries are "testing, sounding and playing with numbers", according to the sources.
WTO members are unlikely to be willing to return to the negotiating table in Geneva unless they are sure that all countries are ready to compromise in order to get an agreement--something that certain members of the G-6 group (EU, US, Brazil, Japan, India and Australia) ...
