The European Union and Ukraine have voiced a desire to improve cooperation on agricultural and rural development issues, following the signing of a joint agreement.
EU Farm Commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel endorsed a so-called memorandum of understanding with Ukraine's agriculture minister Yurii Melnyk in Brussels on Wednesday.
The document, seen by Agra Europe, calls for greater communication and cooperation in the field of policy and law making and encourages more discussion in several areas including trade, technology, food safety, geographical indications and organic production.
