The European Commission is to impose an anti-dumping duty of 34.2 on frozen strawberries from China, after ruling that China was using anti-competitive tactics to invade the EU market.

The Commission agreed on Thursday to impose high antidumping tariffs on imports of frozen strawberries into the EU--70% of which come from China--after it found that the "prices and costs of the Chinese exporters were clearly distorted".

Anti-competitive behaviour by the Chinese authorities, including "discriminatory VAT reimbursements", and lax accounting rules that allowed "technically bankrupt companies to continue to operate", led to dumping margins of as much as 66.9%, according to ...
