German insurer Allianz launches Hungarian bank, aims to be among mid-sized banks in 5 years
BUDAPEST. OCTOBER 26. INTERFAX CENTRAL EUROPE - German insurance giant Allianz has launched a commercial banking unit in Hungary to complement its market-leading insurance business, and aims to be among the country's mid-sized banks within five years, company officials announced Thursday.
"Our aim is to be among the mid-sized banks in Hungary within five years," Allianz Bank Zrt CEO Adam Farkas told Interfax following a press conference. "Whether we reach this goal depends in large part on when we are able to start our SME business."
