Oct. 26--Bloomington restaurant patrons are embracing once-banned fresh spinach again, while consumers elsewhere are more wary.
Anne Gardner, a manager at the Uptown Cafe, said Wednesday the restaurant has resumed serving fresh spinach -- and that demand is as high as ever, particularly for its popular spinach salad and Popeye omelet with spinach.
"Once customers realized the scare was over, they were eager to order our spinach dishes," she said.
Likewise Curt White, assistant manager at Malibu Grill, said the restaurant is once again serving fresh spinach.
He said demand is still strong for its fresh spinach salad and side of spinach. ...
