Oct. 27--SAN DIEGO -- San Diego County's regional water supplier said again Thursday that it is no longer interested in helping to build a Carlsbad plant that would turn 50 million gallons of seawater a day into drinking water.

The declaration by San Diego County Water Authority board members came despite a request from two board members that the agency reconsider working with Poseidon Resources Inc., the private company that still intends to build the plant.

It also came even though Mayor Claude "Bud" Lewis of Carlsbad said that water agencies should let Poseidon build the plant, operate it long enough to prove it works, ...
