Oct. 27--LIMA -- Allen County commissioners want the city of Lima to increase the amount of money it gives Veterans Memorial Civic Center each year.
They also want the Civic Center to be more self-supportive.
The city's amount, which has been about $100,000 each year, has not changed in more than 20 years. The county, however, pays the cost of utilities at the Civic Center, which opened in 1984, and those bills increase each year, commissioners said during a budget meeting Thursday with members of the Civic Center board.
