CORRECTION (ran 10/24/2006): The wrong word appeared in a story on Page F1 Sunday about a ceremony honoring Iwo Jima survivors. The sentence should have read: "The 36-day campaign was a symbolic win reflected in the famous Joe Rosenthal photograph of Marines raising one of two flags on the island."
