Oct. 28--An investigation into whether the deputy medical examiner ran a private-autopsy business using public facilities could broaden into a full-blown audit of the department that investigates suspicious deaths, Palm Beach County officials said Friday. The Sheriff's Office, at the request of county administrators, this week conducted an investigation to determine whether Dr. Eroston Price performed private autopsies on county time. An anonymous letter claimed Price used county personnel and equipment to perform the autopsies, even storing body parts in county coolers.
