THOUSANDS of call centre customers are at risk from criminal gangs infiltrating the industry and stealing personal information, it was claimed yesterday.
Almost every household in Britain comes into contact with call centres several times a year as more businesses move away from direct customer contact.
But the centres have become the latest front in the war on identity theft as criminals search for new ways of accessing secret customer information and stealing from accounts.
