Oct. 30--Greg Levengood doesn't know how many deer roam Pennsylvania's woods, but he knows how many should be there. As chairman of the Unified Sportsmen of Pennsylvania, Levengood feels the state's deer herd has been greatly depleted, the result of liberal hunting seasons, inflated population estimates and excessive antlerless license allocations.
Levengood's group, which claims 40,000 members statewide, has filed a lawsuit against the Pennsylvania Game Commission regarding decisions the agency has made to manage the state's deer herd. The suit was originally filed in August 2005, and was revised last September in Commonwealth ...
