Oct. 30--BELGRADE -- The story of the origins of the Lazy Lab Cafe sounds like Lemony Snicket in reverse: A series of fortunate events and a string of quirky coincidences lead to the creation of a warm and cozy coffee shop in Belgrade's village area.
The first is the name of the two owners: Both are named Wendy Elizabeth, one with the last name of Schlosser, one with the last name of McCarthy.
Both own 4-year-old black Labradors named Libby.
They've summered with their children in camps on opposite sides of the road for nearly a decade -- but never met until they both moved here permanently last June.
