With eight days remaining before an election that could change the balance of power in Congress, the national Democratic Party on Monday began pouring money into Syracuse to help challenger Dan Maffei oust Republican Rep. Jim Walsh.
The nearly $200,000 spent for air time on Syracuse television may be duplicated in the Rochester end of the 25th District as internal campaign polls show the race tightening, said Jen Psaki, regional spokeswoman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
