Errol Francis, manager of the three Credit Suisse income funds, has unexpectedly left the group.
Fund Strategy has been told that Francis, who has been put on gardening leave until December 22, will join Schroders to work with Richard Buxton. The move has caused Bill Mott, who stepped back from portfolio management to a strategic advisory role in 2003, to delay his retirement until the end of the year.
Mark Ingram, co-head of UK retail sales at Credit Suisse alongside Stephen Andrews, says Mott will not be directly involved in the running of the funds, but will provide top-down input for the seven-strong UK equity team.
