For 16 additional teams in the Class 5A state football playoffs, an opportunity has presented itself.
The question being raised by many, though, on the eve of the big-school postseason: Are more teams necessarily better?
Seemingly, it depends on one's perspective. According to Range-view coach Dave Gonzales and Tom McCartney of Fairview, the answer is a resounding yes.
Of the 39 teams in 5A this season, 32 are playoff bound. For those keeping score, that's double the number of teams in the playoffs from last season.
