France's Carrefour, Europe's biggest retailer, plans to deploy a network of hypermarkets in Bulgaria and is already in talks to buy a second hypermarket site in the capital Sofia, according to Jerome Loubere, Carrefour Bulgaria executive director.
Meanwhile Carrefour has announced plans to invest 82 million euros in Romania, following purchase of key sites there and the recent acquisition of the Hyperlo chain, previously a franchise. Since Carrefour took full ownership of the chain it has opened four more stores in Bucharest, Brasove and Ploiesti.
The size of Carrefour's investment in Bulgaria has earned the company a First Class Investor certificate ...
