Nov. 2--A San Benito County ranch about 10 miles south of Hollister is being investigated in connection with the E. coli outbreak that sickened more than 200 and killed three people, one of the ranch's owners confirmed Wednesday. For weeks, investigators have been mum on the identities of ranches under scrutiny, saying they didn't want to identify prematurely or incorrectly the ranches involved. In recent weeks, federal and state health officials narrowed their investigations from nine ranches to four in Monterey County or San Benito County but have declined to identify them.
