Nov. 2--Bricktown property owners and merchants indicated Wednesday they are divided on proposals to rename three streets after musicians Vince Gill, Charlie Christian and The Flaming Lips.
Much of the controversy stems over a proposal by Mayor Mick Cornett to name an alley between Sheridan Avenue and the Bricktown Canal after The Flaming Lips.
Oklahoma RedHawks executive director John Allgood said he doesn't oppose honoring The Flaming Lips, but added he prefers calling the unnamed strip "Power Alley."
The ballpark has no entry along the alley now, but Allgood said team owners are weighing ...
