The European Commission (EC) is endorsing a plan submitted by Luxembourg's national regulator to further open broadband access and Internet Protocol (IP) communications markets to the competition, including the newest higher-speed digital subscriber line (xDSL) technologies.
The EC's agreement on new pro-competitive measures and conditions proposed by the Institut Luxembourgeois de Regulation (ILR) in late September will give new market entrants high-speed access to end customers, with Luxembourg being a concentrated corporate enterprise market, via the broadband networks of the diminutive country's dominant telecom incumbent Entreprise des Postes et ...
