Nov. 3--MUSKOGEE -- Melanie Smith's 5-year-old son and estranged husband, who by some accounts is also her half-brother, took the stand Thursday to describe what life was like at their tumultuous home in Braggs.
The child referred to his mother as "Mean Mommy" and said he was afraid of her because she whipped him on the bottom with a belt.
The child described more sinister types of abuse at the hands of his aunt Sharon Smith, his baby sitter, who he said would spank him with a switch on his "private" a lot of days and step on his feet nearly every day.
Sharon Smith is facing charges in Sequoyah County.
