CHAMPAIGN, Ill. _ For much of Saturday's game, it appeared that crossing midfield would be Illinois' greatest accomplishment against top-ranked Ohio State.
Then a thriller broke out.
"Memorial Stadium was jacked," Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall said.
And when Jason Reda's perfect onside kick appeared to flutter through half the Buckeyes' roster, the Illini faithful pondered the unimaginable.
"It was bouncing around," Illinois linebacker J Leman said. "But it just didn't happen."
Brian Robiskie recovered it, allowing the Buckeyes to head home with a 17-10 victory.
