Article: Crime on two college campuses jumps: increases at West Chester and Drexel were due to more accurate reporting, experts say. School officials disagree.

Nov. 5--Judging from the crime reports that West Chester and Drexel Universities filed to the federal government for 2004, their campuses were nearly impenetrable security bubbles, where rape and robbery rarely happened. Judging from the statistics that those schools submitted for 2005, however, students would do well to keep their guard up.

Drexel and West Chester have reported significant increases in the rates of certain serious crimes. But experts are saying that has less to do with those campuses suddenly becoming more dangerous and more to do with a suddenly honest accounting of incidents that occur there.
