Nov. 6--Some days at Temple Israel, one of Central Florida's oldest and largest synagogues, it's tough to tell the Christians from the Jews -- their house of worship is the same building.

This is no enlightened ecumenical experiment. It is a temporary marriage of convenience, born out of necessity as Temple Israel has struggled financially. The synagogue is renting space to New Beginnings Healing Center Church, a Pentecostal congregation, to help ends meet.

As sundown approaches on Wednesdays, youngsters leaving Hebrew school at the Longwood synagogue might brush past members of New Beginnings Healing Center Church ...
