According to the 2005 Housing and Vacancy report for New York, nearly one third of all renters in the city pay over half their income for rent, with the totaling median gross rent running at $920 a month.

Yet, according to some of the city's most exclusive brokers, there's no shortage of takers for some of the most expensive rentals in the market.
