The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is taking a little more time to investigate and amass public input on proposed rule changes designed to stiffen regulations governing pervasive and growing telemarketing call activity.

Coming amid consumer complains and official concerns on both the federal and state levels about both commercial and political calls (TelecomWeb news break, Oct. 26), the FTC will extend the deadline for outside comment at least 40 days, until Dec. 18.
