Every year, the holidays seem to start earlier and earlier.
December holiday decorations are already in stores. That's not necessarily a bad thing. But autumn is so beautiful we'd like to hang onto it as long as possible and to decorate with a bounty of reds, oranges and yellows, in a harvest of mums, branches and pumpkins.
Autumn decor once meant decking the house in spider webs and turkey prints. The longer season allows fall interiors to be filled with color and texture.
Patchwork quilts now come in rust, burgundy and gold. Even leaves are available in sculptural dishes and illustrative graphic prints.
