SINN Fein yesterday gave a qualified "Yes" to the St Andrews Agreement in a move which was hailed as positive by the Government.
Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has already said he believes there is more than 90pc support for the deal among Ian Paisley's DUP, which is expected to give its formal response in the next couple of days.
The Irish and British Governments will be encouraged by the developments as they plan to give their considered assessment on Friday of the progress made towards meeting the November 24 deadline.
