Nov. 7--A FLOWER to all those who invested the time and effort to run for office.

In an era when the community faces important questions on transportation, housing, education and economic development, civic engagement is particularly important.

Running for office is a time-consuming, exhausting and costly experience. But it's also a clear expression of caring about one's community.

Civil involvement does lead to better communities; apathy leads to stagnation. We salute those who cared enough about their city and state to run for office.
