PROJECT OVERVIEW:
A Japanese joint venture, operating under the name of COJAAL, began work on a major highway project in Algeria in September 2006. The partners in the planned undertaking include KAJIMA CORP., TAISEI CORP., HAZAMA CORP., NISHIMATSU CONSTRUCTION CO. LTD. & ITOCHU CORP.
According to the terms of the award, COJAAL will be responsible for building: The eastern section of the east-west highway that will consist of 399 km-long, 6-lane, segment; 190 bridges and viaducts; 5 tunnels.
The entire East-West Highway development will extend 1,216 kms and ensure the link between Annaba in the northeast and Tlemcen in the northwest and pass ...
