PROJECT OVERVIEW:
A German/South Korean 50:50 joint venture, operating under the name of SILTRONIC SAMSUNG WAFER PTE LTD., recently started building a 300 mm wafer plant in Singapore. The partners in the planned undertaking include Germany-based SILTRONIC AG and SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO. LTD. (SEC) of South Korea. The new factory is intended to support growing market demand as the industry-wide shift to 300 mm fabrication rapidly increases.
