Controlling Costs and Maximizing Value of Health Plans Continue to Be Top Priorities for Employers and Employees

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. -- This year, U.S. companies saw the lowest health care cost increase in eight years, but the overall rate of the increase continues to be a major concern for employers and employees as it outpaces inflation and salary increases, according to Hewitt Associates, a global human resources services company. In 2006, average health care rate increases were 7.9 percent. For 2007, Hewitt is projecting a 7.7 percent average increase for employers.
