Cottage cheese: down, but not out.

Cottage cheese has lost much of the prominence it enjoyed during the 1970s, when per-capita consumption reached 5.4 lbs. Many dairy products analysts believe that the decline of cottage cheese was due to strong competition from other products and poor marketing. To renew consumer awareness of the product, the International Dairy Foods Assn. (IDFA) has launched a marketing campaign called 'Cottage Cheese: The New Power Source.' In line with the campaign, the IDFA has distributed press kits among food editors.
