OTTAWA -- Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) is recruiting 500 technical support professionals and creating additional training programs for its 1,000-person Ottawa customer contact centre.
The centre's staff development and recruitment plans are part of an incremental $150 million company-wide investment this fiscal year to improve customer experience, and the added responsibility to support Dell's latest high-performance XPS computers.
The investment includes broader support policies, which have been expanded to software and applications that are factory-installed on Dell systems. Software issues generate 80 percent of Dell's support requests.
