It's no secret the Schenectady Republican Party has just about sunk out of sight in recent times. Democrats took lopsided control of city/county government and they own all but one countywide office.
The Democrats worked night and day building a solid political infrastructure. Meanwhile, Republicans have been out to lunch - breakfast and dinner, too.
While talking with some hard-core GOP'ers after a fundraiser last week, I forecast gloom and doom for the shipwrecked party. A major problem is the failure to recruit election candidates.
