GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Florida has developed an educational program that uses pharmacy students to warn teenagers against the dangers of drug abuse.
Professor Paul Doering is in charge of the elective course, "Role of the Pharmacist in Substance Abust Prevention." Pharmacists are ideal for such a role, he says, because of their in-depth knowledge of drugs.
"Our experience shows that pharmacists can serve as a credible source of competent information about drug abuse," writes Doering in a report on the course.
