NEW YORK, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Sixteen companies throughout New York State won recommendations Wednesday for allocations of low-cost New York Power Authority electricity that would be tied to the creation or maintenance of more than 14,000 jobs.
The state Economic Development Power Allocation Board (EDPAB), meeting here at Power Authority offices, made the recommendations, based in large part on the willingness of the companies to create or protect jobs. The recommendations are subject to approval by Power Authority trustees.
The electricity would be produced at the Power Authority's James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant on Lake Ontario near Oswego.
